Jing Video
I created my Jing video using Microsoft Excel. During middle school many students learn how to calculate the average given a set of data. My video is to teach others how to calculate average using a formula on Excel. Teachers can use this formula to calculate the class average for a test grade or any other type of data numbers, or students can use this and add it to a presentation. Jeopardy
What a great program! The Jeopardy site would be so useful to help study for a quiz or review over many subjects. I created my Jeopardy game as a review to use for all 5th grade subjects. I was placed in 5th grade during my second 8 weeks of student teaching. During this time the students were doing WesTest review. Even though I was teaching math, we reviewed all subjects during homeroom time. I believe a game like this would help students, since at this age they like competition. The students could be assigned to create the game in groups and test the other groups on their knowledge. This would not only help them study but would also allow them to better their technology skills.

Word Cloud
I created a "wordle" in one of my undergrad classes. I loved it. I think it is a great tool to show students, they can put in a lot of ideas from brainstorming in class or using quotes from others and see what it shows as the most used or most important of the words. It's fun to play around with and see what shows up the most. This could be used in many different classes throughout education. I used a lot of my favorite quotes on teaching to create this wordle so if you see a random name inside the wordle its from the quoted person. :)

Jing Image
I am currently substituting for a kindergarten class. I will be there until mid-November and right now we are working on learning numbers. Many of the students have difficulty writing their numbers so we have used many rhymes to help them remember. I used Jing to capture an image of the number and then used the tools to show direction and text of how to teach the rhyme to students. They remember the fun rhyme and remember the motions that go along with it!

Self Portrait
I created the self portrait at the picassohead web site...however I can not insert the picture here because I have been unable to get the snipping tool. It was fun creating the portrait and I was able to change the characteristics many times before I finally decided on the right ones. I've never seen this site before so it was something new for me. I think students would like going to this site because it gives them the freedom of expressing themselves and how they see themselves without actually using their own picture. Many students would probably be more accepting of an assignment using this type of website since they would be able to create, change, and explain themselves through picture.
